Disappointed
I get so disappointed when I see people complaining because they’re not losing weight at a fast enough rate, especially when their losses are actually great! You can’t lose weight overnight nor can you kick off 15kg in 2 weeks! Weight is easy to put on but it takes lots of time, determination & hard-work to get it back off again. There are no quick solutions when it comes to weight-loss so don’t get disappointed if your loss for the week isn’t huge—- don’t even get upset if you have a gain (ever heard of fluid retention?)! Just keep on going, because you’re going to get there (trust me you will)!!

I've been on the treadmill for two years. I've got goal weight and I struggle everyday to keep it. I can empathise with others who works their butts off week after week and see little change to the scales. I myself have been restricted to 1600 over the past year, I go over that my weight goes up. Ok that's my reality and there are days when I just want to give in and there are days when I do binge, tired of writing down everything I put into my mouth and working out a minimum of an hour every day. Yes I should be happy I have goal and most of the time I am but there are times when it just doesn't seem worth it all anymore too. But I want to be here to see my grand babies born so I drag my disappointed butt out of bed most mornings before 6am and get on with it. As mish says I use robot mode, I JFDI. I was thinking its a bit like fishing, you can sit next to someone else on the bank who keeps pulling in the fish and you sit there and get nothing.. Would you keep fishing in that spot? If you aren't getting a reward its bloody hard to keep sitting there waiting.
ReplyDeleteThat's very true Tracey; I myself am at goal weight & I've found it to be much more difficult mentally to maintain rather than lose weight. When you're losing weight you can clearly mark your progress on the scales but when maintaining its harder to find a goal to sustain your efforts. All my goals now revolve around being able to lift certain weights & run certain distances so that's how I track my progress now. I can definitely emphasize with those who work their butts off week after week;
DeleteThe people who disappoint me are the ones who put in effort for say a week or two and then give up because they haven't seen results (mainly because they haven't given themselves the time to see results!)
